Derek Willis on Newsroom Innovation
A primer in tweets
The confidential New York Times Innovation Report leaked to the media last week has stirred up plenty of intense reactions, including Nieman Lab’s epic-scale group-effort commentary and excerpts and a range of tweeted responses from journalists and digital publishing nerds:

Parts of the leaked doc will have you saying, "Hey, that's like my newsroom!" And parts will leave you adding, "… if it won Powerball."

Willis Steps Up
Over the weekend, Times journalist, developer, and data scrutinizer Derek Willis dug into the report at length from the perspective of an insider who builds the kind of reusable systems called for by the report’s authors. Mark Friesen Storified some of the tweets, and we’ve collected a few more and annotated them using the text Willis quotes to provide context for readers who didn’t spend their weekend buried in the PDF.
